Mine is an electric guitar, so in fact it would be more expensive than the acoustic and classical ones. Mine is 700+, excluding amp (and you need amp to play).
I think you wanted to learn acoustic or classical, those are cheaper, depends on the wood type and your budget.
I was generalizing the electric guitars, I mean the cheapest you can get out of an electric guitar is still more expensive than a usable acoustic or classical guitar.

If you were referring to your fingers... Yes they will suffer xD
But in term of playability, I don't think there's any problem as long as you keep your interest in it and practice regularly.

btw, who ssy acoustic and classical sure more expensive thn electric wan =.=..... The guitar store tried to sell a 1.5k acoustic to me.......
